Kid Rock calls out ‘angry’ Michelle Obama for ‘snubbing’ Trump’s inauguration

Kid Rock has made a swipe at Michelle Obama after it was confirmed that she isn’t attending Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Following his historic win in November’s election, Trump will be sworn into office once more on Monday (January 20) — his second time becoming president.

The businessman-turned-congressman will reportedly have a host of famous faces perform at the event, including Carrie Underwood, the Village People, and Kid Rock.

The Village People, best known for their hit song ‘Y.M.C.A.’ that Trump often plays at his rallies, confirmed earlier this week that they’d be performing.

“We are announcing today that VILLAGE PEOPLE have accepted an invitation from President Elect Trump’s campaign to participate in inaugural activities, including at least one event with President Elect Trump,” the band penned in a Facebook post.

“We know this wont make some of you happy to hear however we believe that music is to be performed without regard to politics.

“Our song Y.M.C.A. is a global anthem that hopefully helps bring the country together after a tumultuous and divided campaign where our preferred candidate lost.”

They added that they want to ‘bring the country together with music‘.

Also speaking ahead of his scheduled performance, Kid Rock featured on Jesse Watters Primetime on Thursday (January 16), where he discussed the news that Michelle Obama will not be attending Trump’s inauguration.

“She seems a little angry,” the singer said of the former first lady’s apparent decision not to go.

The five-time Grammy nominee went on to point out that he performed at the Youth Inaugural Ball hours after former President Barack Obama was first sworn into office in 2009, despite not having voted him.

“I would kindly remind her that years back when Obama was first elected, I did not vote for him,” Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, said.

“But they asked me to play the inauguration. And I played it and I went.”

“I had a good time,” the singer went on. “I went out of respect for the president so I would kindly remind Michelle about that.”

Michelle is thought to be the only former first ladies who will not be in attendance on Monday.

As per NBC News, Joe and Jill Biden, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and George W. and Laura Bush are expected to be there.

A handful of foreign leaders have also reportedly been invited.

UNILAD have approached Michelle’s reps in light of Kid Rock’s remarks.

  • Trump didn’t attend Biden’s inauguration. All the previous presidents attended the incoming presidential inauguration. Stop being so too faced. Look at your own people who do not do the right thing as you say.

  • She’s very wrong about not going to that with her husband,it doesn’t matter how much you don’t like someone,it’s about respect, not to Donald Trump but to her husband

Donald Trump has promised a ‘golden age’ for America after beating Kamala Harris in the US election

Donald Trump will become the 47th president of the US after beating Kamala Harris in the 2024 US election, with questions now raised over who will make up his cabinet as he returns to the White House.

As he prepares to return to power in January, Trump’s team will be putting together a cabinet to govern the country.

The former president declared victory prior to achieving the crucial 270 electoral votes on Wednesday (6 November).

Trump said he had ‘made history’ after being projected to win the battleground states of North CarolinaGeorgia and Pennsylvania.

“Every single day I will be fighting for you, with every single breath in my body. I will not rest until we have delivered the strong, safe and prosperous America that children deserve,” he said.

“And that you deserve. This will truly be the golden age for America.”

Before the election victory, the New York Post reports that Trump put together a ‘transition’ team that ensures a smooth transition into power for the president-elect before inauguration day.

The outlet reports that sources close to Trump suggest his team is confident of many Republican Senate victories, which should ease Trump’s transition into power.

CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, Howard Lutnick, is part of Trump’s transition team, alongside Linda McMahon, who formed part of Trump’s team during his first term.

Eric and Donald Jr., Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and vice president-elect JD Vance are also expected to be part of the team.

As for Trump’s cabinet for when he is in office, that is expected to be picked by the man himself – but who could feature in it?

Chief of Staff

The New York Post notes Susie Wiles is one of the leading candidates to take the role of chief of staff having worked as Trump’s co-chair during the campaign.

“She makes him feel comfortable,” one source close to Trump said of Wiles to CNN.

The chief of staff appointment is one the 47th president needs to get right as he churned through four of them during his first term.

One of them being John Kelly, who said before the election campaign that Trump fits ‘into the general definition of fascist’.

Former house speaker Kevin McCarthy and Brooke Rollins, a former White House domestic policy adviser, are also expected to be candidates.

Attorney General

Perhaps one of the more important roles in government, it’s very important Trump gets the attorney general role within his government right.

General Matthew Whitaker, who was once an acting attorney general under Trump, is believed to be one of the names under consideration.

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry and Missouri Sen. Eric Schmitt are also believed to be in the mix, according to the New York Post.

National security

Security is always high on the list for any president-elect, so Trump is going to need a good team around him to help out.

As far as positions in this area go, former national security adviser Robert O’Brien and Richard Grenell, former acting Director of National Intelligence, are in line for a job.

Secretary of State

According to Sky News, Marco Rubio, who once tried to be the Republican presidential candidate, is a candidate to be secretary of state.

Rubio, who has very similar policies to Trump, was a contender to be the president-elect’s running mate before JD Vance took the role.

Advisers

Elon Musk was an ever-present during Trump’s campaign, with some speculation the Twitter owner could land an advisory role in Trump’s cabinet.

Meanwhile, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. could be offered a similar role.

Trump will be putting together his cabinet ahead of taking office on January 2025.

Having attended Jimmy Carter’s funeral earlier this week, Kamala Harris has shared a photo from the ceremony and everyone is noticing the same awkward thing.

Carter died at the age of 100 years old on December 29, having become the longest-living president in US history.

President Carter is survived by his children Jack, Chip, Jeff, and Amy, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

The former president, who left office in 1981, lived so long that two of the eulogies were written by people who died before him— his vice president Walter Mondale, and his White House predecessor Gerald Ford.

On Thursday (January 9), Carter was laid to rest in Washington National Cathedral, with all of his living successors in attendance.

Vice President Harris was also there, and has since posted a picture from the funeral on the VP’s official social media accounts.

She wrote: “President Jimmy Carter loved our country. He lived his faith, served the people, and left the world better than he found it.

“President Carter’s many contributions will echo for generations to come.”

Joe Biden and former presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama were all in the picture as they placed their hands over their hearts.

President-elect Donald Trump was also in attendance, sat by Obama and incoming first lady Melania Trump, but the Trump’s were nowhere to be seen in the snap.

It seems as though the incoming president of the United Sates has indeed been cropped out.

“This crop is legendary,” one person said in the Instagram comments.

A second added: “I immediately laughed when I saw this image. I love a good cropped photo.”

And a third remarked: “I love the crop on this photo.”

While you may not see him, Trump was indeed in attendance at the ceremony, and even shared a laugh and a joke with Obama.

During one snippet, Obama was seen laughing at Trump who said: “Can you imagine?” according to a lip reader who spoke to Sky News

“We are here for a tough show,” the president-elect continued.

Trump also asked his predecessor: “Would you give me a go at starting it?”

Obama then said: “Yeah, I would. Yeah. We’ll see what happens.”

Away from what Obama and Trump were chatting about, Carter’s family paid tribute to the 100-year-old.

Joshua Carter, his grandson, said: “He built houses for people who needed homes. “He eliminated diseases in forgotten places. He waged peace anywhere in the world, wherever he saw a chance. He loved people.”

Dick Van Dyke was asked whether he believed Donald Trump would truly ‘make America great again’ slogan and his ten-word response was brutal.

President-Elect Trump, 78, clinched victory in the 2024 presidential election earlier this month, securing 312 Electoral College votes and all seven battleground states.

The businessman, who defeated Democratic rival and current Vice President Kamala Harris, 60, is set to return to Washington D.C on January 20, 2025, to begin his second term as President of the United States.

Celebrities such as Elon Musk, Mel Gibson and Jeff Bezos have all been vocal in their support for the Republican party leader, while singer Billie Eilish has described his win as a ‘war on women’.

Another famous face who seemingly isn’t best pleased that Trump is posed to take up residency in the White House again is Dick Van Dyke.

The entertainment legend, who turns 99 on December 13, announced ahead of the US election that he would be voting for Harris and encouraged fans to do the same.

Taking to his official YouTube channel, the Mary Poppins favorite added: “Hatred is not the norm. Prejudice is not the norm. Suspicion, dislike, jealousy, scapegoating, none of those are the transcendent facets of the human personality.

“They are diseases. They are the cancers of the soul. They are the infectious and contagious viruses that have been breeding humanity for years.”

Now van Dyke has made his thoughts on Trump officially becoming the 47th POTUS clear.

In a video published by the Daily Mail, the actor was asked by a member of the paparazzi whether he believed Trump would indeed ‘make America great again’ as his campaign slogan suggested.

In the presence of his wife Arlene Silver, 53, van Dyke stated: “Fortunately, I won’t be around to experience the four years.”

The cameraperson went on to query whether the father-of-four believed the ‘future looked bright’ under a Trump administration, to which he responded: “I hope you’re right!”

Earlier this year the Hollywood veteran revealed he was still ‘looking for work’ ahead of his 99th birthday.

Van Dyke attended the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony in September where he picked up a gong for his 2023 birthday special, Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic, before heading into the press room.

He was asked by a reporter at the Los Angeles’ Peacock Theatre how he hopes to be remembered in the coming decades, to which he replied: “For laughter. I hope for making people laugh for 75 years.”

He continued: “I’ve been in the business 75 years. I can’t believe that I’m still here and performing.”

As per People Magazine, he proceeded to look around the room before announcing: “I’m looking for work if anybody has,” followed by a laugh.

Tattoo artist slammed after inking 9-year-old girl who asked for tattoo of Donald Trump

Tattoo artist slammed after inking 9-year-old girl who asked for tattoo of Donald Trump

A tattoo artist has caused a stir after inking a nine-year-old girl.

The unnamed child and her parents traveled from out of state to Arizona-based tattoo parlour Black Onyx Empire.

It’s thought the girl first got the inking last year, and recently returned to the establishment for a touch-up.

It’s on her second visit that Black Onyx Empire shared a video of the girl getting her tattoo to its socials.

When the girl and her family rocked up to the parlour, the nine-year-old said that she wanted a portrait of president-elect Donald Trump on her neck.

But the tattoo artist, who is simply goes by Sosa, managed to convince the girl and her parents to go with a different design.

Ultimately, she ended up with an American flag on her arm.

While the decision to ink the elementary school child was undeniably questionable, it’s not illegal to tattoo a minor in Arizona.

As per the state’s legislation, it’s okay to tattoo someone under the age of 18 if their parents are present.

The law explains that it’s an unlawful act ‘to intentionally brand, scarify, implant, mutilate, tattoo or pierce the body of a person who is under eighteen years of age without the physical presence of the parent or legal guardian of the person requesting the brand, scar, tattoo, implant, mutilation or piercing’.

While Sosa was within his legal rights to do the inking, he and his parlour have received a lot of criticism.

Speaking out on the backlash he’s received, Sosa told Arizona’s Family: “Any publicity is good publicity.

“I’d rather have good publicity, however, this is just a debate.”

He insisted that there’s more to the story, and that the family, who hail from Turkey, have a special place in their hearts for America in light of the opportunities they’ve had since relocating there.

“They’re very grateful to be here in the United States,” Sosa said, adding that they see Donald Trump as a ‘hero’.

While he stands by his decision, the tattooist insisted that he’s not trying to promote children getting tattoos and doesn’t have his own kids tattooed.

As well as encouraging the family to choose a different design, apparently Sosa massively overcharged them in the hopes of deterring the parents from paying for the inking to be done, New York Post reports.

While it should have cost around $80, Sosa charged then $500.
