Donald Trump has revealed an insight into a ‘very important’ letter he discovered written by former US President Joe Biden.
On Monday (January 20), during a ceremony in the Oval Office located in the West Wing of the White House in Washington DC, 47th President of the US Donald Trump discovered a handwritten letter in a desk from Joe Biden.
Finding the letter
A video shared by Forbes Breaking News shows the moment a journalist asked Trump if he’d received a message from Biden, prompting Trump to open the drawers of the desk.
Quickly finding a letter with the number ’47’ written on it, Trump commented: “It could have been years before we found it. Wow, thank you.
“[…] Peter thank you very much, I may’ve not seen this for months.”
Trump noted he ‘left [Biden] one in the desk just like this’ after his term as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021.
And when asked what he spoke about in the letter to Biden, Trump said: “The unification of our country.”

The contents
Well, without giving much away at all, Trump revealed: “It said, ‘To Number 47’.”
He added: “It was a very nice one […] just basically a little bit of an inspirational-type letter. Enjoy it. Do a good job. Important, very important how important the job is.”
While the specific contents of the letter remain somewhat of a mystery, the practice of the words of wisdom being passed on to the next president isn’t – with the letter a tradition in the history of presidents in the US.

The history
The tradition of writing a letter to the incoming president was first started in 1989 by 40th President of the US Ronald Reagan.
Reagan served as president of the US from 1981 to 1989 and upon his leaving of the position, he left a letter to vice president and successor George H.W. Bush.
The letter was written on a piece of paper stationary which already had the comment: “Don’t let the turkeys get you down.”
It continued: “Dear George, You’ll have moments when you want to use this particular stationary. Well, go to it.
“George, I treasure the memories we share and I wish you all the very best. You’ll be in my prayers. God bless you & Barbara. I’ll miss our Thursday lunches. Ron.”
Oh, and there was also an illustration of an elephant surrounded by turkeys – as you do.

A lip reader has shared his thoughts on a viral video of Barron Trump and Joe Biden after viewers were left desperate to know what the new president’s son said.
The exchange between Barron and Biden took place at the inauguration of Donald Trump yesterday (January 20), when he was officially sworn in as the 47th President of the United States.
The event was attended by former presidents including George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, as well as Biden and multiple members of Trump’s family, which is how Biden and Barron ended up greeting each other at one point during the video.
In one angle of the scene which has since gone viral, Biden can be seen leaning in to shake Barron’s hand while speaking to him. The younger Trump then appears to lean towards the outgoing president and make a comment that left viewers absolutely hooked, with people desperate for insight into what he said.
“Barron wiped that smile from Biden’s face. What do you think he said?” one Twitter user wrote as they shared the video.
Another responded: “I would really love to know.”

After taking a look at the viral clip, lip reader Jeremy Freeman shared his thoughts on what Biden and Barron could have said to one another.
Freeman told LADbible that as Biden shook Barron’s hand, he told him: “It’s good to see you man.”
According to Freeman, Barron then responded: “Exactly.”
Without audio it’s hard to know for certain what was said during the exchange, but a new angle of the moment has now shed more light on what went down.
In the more recently emerged footage, it becomes apparent that after shaking Biden’s hand, Barron moved on to shaking the hand of Kamala Harris – it’s just the angle of the initial video that makes him look like he was leaning closely to Biden.
After viewers saw the new angle, Barron received praise for being a ‘gentleman’ and showing ‘class’ by shaking Harris’ hand after she went up against his dad in the race for president.
“That’s a bit of ‘class’ right there by Baron Trump,” one viewer wrote, as another added: “Direct eye contact and a handshake. A respectful thing. Young men don’t do this very often nowadays.”
Barron, an 18-year-old New York University student, was joined at the inauguration by his mother, Melania Trump, as well as his brothers and sisters.

A Donald Trump ‘memecoin’ that turned hundreds of people into millionaires took a hit after the incoming First Lady Melania Trump launched a coin of her own.
Because even when you’re about to be put in charge of one of the most powerful countries in the world, there’s still time for a side hustle.
Melania announced the launch of her ‘Official Melania Meme’ in a post on Twitter last night (January 19), just hours after the ‘$Trump’ memecoin was presented to the world.
The coins come as Trump prepares to return to the Oval Office today (January 20), when he will be inaugurated as the 47th president taking over from Joe Biden.

What is $Trump?
Trump launched his very own cryptocurrency with a post on his Truth Social social media account, where he encouraged followers to join him in ‘winning’ to celebrate his presidency.
A disclaimer on Trump’s website points out that the coin is ‘not intended to be’ an investment opportunity, nor is it a ‘political’ crypto, but instead declared: “This Trump Meme celebrates a leader who doesn’t back down, no matter the odds.”
Trump fans quickly jumped on the bandwagon and bought the coin, and its value soon skyrocketed up to an incredible $14 billion.
Within just six hours, $Trump went from a few cents to $14 and just kept climbing, prompting more than 500 people to declare themselves $TRUMP millionaires less than 24 hours of investing in the coins.

What is $Melania?
Seemingly not wanting her husband to have all the fun, it wasn’t long before Melania announced her own memecoin.
$Melania has been launched on the Solana blockchain, the same as Trump’s, and quickly received interest of its own as its value pushed to more than $5, resulting in a fully diluted market cap of over $5 billion, Forbes reports.

How has $Melania impacted $Trump?
Though cryptocurrency seems to have become a family business in the Trump household, unfortunately, the launch of Melania’s coin initially had some adverse impacts on the incoming president’s crypto as Trump’s memecoin crashed by around 40 percent.
Experts at The Kobeissi Letter, which provides commentary on the global capital markets, described the rapidly changing landscape as ‘insane’.
In a post on Twitter, it wrote: “The coin just erased over $5 billion in market cap in a matter of seconds. $MELANIA coin is being viewed as a competitor against $TRUMP coin. This has resulted in a sharp drop in demand for $TRUMP.”
In spite of the initial impact, Trump didn’t seem to see Melania as a competitor as her social media posts announcing the coin were shared to Trump’s own platforms.
His confidence appears to have paid off as $Trump has since made a recovery, rising up up more than 110 percent from the low it hit after the $Melania launch.

Donald Trump has slammed ‘the so-called Bishop’ who issued a ‘plea’ to him about immigrants and the LGBTQ+ community in a brutal statement on Truth Social.
On Monday (January 20), Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the US and within 24 hours signed off multiple executive orders including policies stating there are ‘only two genders’ and blocking immigrants from being able to enter – and remain as easily in – the country.
What has Trump said about the LGBTQ+ community?
One of Trump’s executive orders which he signed yesterday reads in part: “Agencies will cease pretending that men can be women and women can be men when enforcing laws that protect against sex discrimination.
“These sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality.”
The order will also bring to an end ‘wasteful’ government programmes which promote diversity and inclusivity, as well as ‘defending women from gender ideology extremism’.

He previously promised to order all federal agencies to end programmes that ‘promote … gender transition at any age’, and pledged to cut funding from hospitals providing gender-affirming care.
What has Trump said about immigration?
Trump issued a slew of immigration-related policies during his first day back in the White House as he declared illegal immigration at the US-Mexico border a national emergency.
Trump has already gotten started on reversing several Biden-era immigration orders and has plans to send US troops to help immigration agents and restrict refugees.
The president has also got the wheels in motion to prevent children of immigrants in the US illegally from having citizenship.
Speaking at his inauguration, he said: “All illegal entry will immediately be halted, and we will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came.”
Mariann Edgar Budde asks for ‘mercy’
Yesterday, Right Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde appealed to the new president to show ‘mercy’ on the LGBTQ+ community and immigrants. Take a look:
During a service at the Washington National Cathedral on January 21, Rev. Budde reflected on the ‘millions’ who’ve placed ‘their trust’ in Trump, appealing to him ‘in the name of our God’ that he has ‘mercy upon the people in the country who are scared now’.
“There are gay, lesbian and transgender children in Democratic, Republican and Independent families, some who fear for their lives,” she calmly continued.
“And the people, the people who pick our crops and clean our office buildings, who labour in poultry farms and meat packing plants, who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in hospitals – they may not be citizens or have the proper documentation, but the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals.”
Trump hits back in lengthy statement
Shortly after the service, Trump commented he ‘didn’t think it was a good service’ and has since taken to his platform Truth Social earlier today (January 22), writing: “The so-called Bishop who spoke at the National Prayer Service on Tuesday morning was a Radical Left hard line Trump hater. She brought her church into the World of politics in a very ungracious way.”
And he didn’t stop there, either.

The post continues: “She was nasty in tone, and not compelling or smart. She failed to mention the large number of illegal migrants that came into our Country and killed people. Many were deposited from jails and mental institutions. It is a giant crime wave that is taking place in the USA.
“Apart from her inappropriate statements, the service was a very boring and uninspiring one. She is not very good at her job!”

Donald Trump has addressed his supporters as he edges closer to victory in the US presidential election.
Taking to the stage at his campaign’s HQ in West Palm Beach, Florida, former president said he had ‘made history’ after being projected to win the battleground states of North Carolina, Georgia and Pennsylvania.
“Every single day I will be fighting for you, with every single breath in my body. I will not rest until we have delivered the strong, safe and prosperous America that children deserve,” Trump said.
“And that you deserve. This will truly be the golden age for America.”
As Trump declared he would ‘make America great again’, he sat four electoral college votes from victory.

The Republicans haven’t been announced as winners just yet as the presidential race has yet to be called.
Though they have taken control of the Senate, something Trump touched on during his speech.
“They were tough races… the number of victories in the Senate was absolutely incredible,” he added.
“It also looks like we’ll be keeping control of the House of Representatives.”
Trump also thanked his wife, Melania, stating she has done a ‘great job’ and ‘works very hard’.
His running mate, JD Vance, also addressed supporters while on stage in Florida.
“I think that we just witnessed the greatest political comeback in the history of the United States of America,” Vance said.
“Under president Trump’s leadership, we’re never going to stop fighting for you, for your dreams, for the future of your children.
“And after the greatest political comeback in American history, we’re going to lead the greatest economic comeback in American history – under Donald Trump’s leadership.”

One of the key states Trump has taken overnight is Pennsylvania, with victory there seen as the keys to the White House.
As Trump said during a rally in September: “If we win Pennsylvania, we win the whole thing. It’s very simple.”
An election official revealed to CNN that ‘at least 182,000 registered voters’ in Pennsylvania cast their ballots early on in the election process.
Although, they noted that was prior to the city picking up the remaining votes cast in-person, and votes made at drop-off locations are still to be collected.
In last two presidential elections, Pennsylvania has been considered the most likely tipping-point state and holds 19 electoral votes.
CNN and NBC have projected Trump to win Pennsylvania, securing the state’s 19 electoral votes.
