Billy Ray Cyrus’ performance at President Donald Trump’s inauguration was a difficult watch, although technical difficulties didn’t help.
The legendary country singer took to the stage at the Liberty Inauguration Ball on Monday (January 20), but the ‘Achey Breaky Heart’ singer didn’t produce the iconic act we’re used to.
Instead, the 63-year-old’s show was marred with IT issues, and at one point, he just wandered aimlessly about the stage just talking to the crowd.
After witnessing the disastrous show, Trace, one of his five children – with Miley Cyrus being another – took to Instagram, pleading with his father to get ‘help’ in a heartbreaking post.
He wrote: “Since my earliest memories all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever. I wanted to be just like you. The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life.
“Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now. It seems this world has beaten you down and it’s become obvious to everyone but you.

“You may be upset with me for posting this but I really could care less at this point. Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you’ve pushed all of us away. Noah desperately has wanted you to be a part of her life and you haven’t even been there for her. That’s your baby girl. She deserves better.”
Trace’s post continued: “Somehow just like me she still idolizes you though. We are all hanging on to memories of the man we once knew & hoping for the day he returns. You’re not healthy Dad & everyone is noticing it. Just like I showed up for you at mamaws funeral when you didn’t expect me to I’m still here right now.

“As I write this with tears in my eyes I hope you realize this message only comes from a place of love and also fear that the world may lose you far too soon. I love you Dad. We haven’t talked in a while but I’m over a year and half clean from alcohol. Guess what? I feel amazing..
“I don’t know what you’re struggling with exactly but I think I have a pretty good idea & I’d love to help you if you would open up and receive the help. You know how to reach me. Till that day comes I will continue to pray for you. billyraycyrus.”

Donald Trump has taken aim at Miley Cyrus after praising her dad Billy Ray on stage as a ‘great conservative guy’.
As if there isn’t enough going on in the Cyrus family at the moment anyway, with leaked audio revealing Billy Ray ‘screaming’ at wife Firerose, former president of the US Donald Trump has piped up too.
Following an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump was back on stage in Nashville, Tennessee over the weekend.
On Saturday (27 July), Trump spoke at the annual Bitcoin Conference, promising to make sure the country becomes the ‘crypto capital of the planet and bitcoin superpower of the world‘.
And who should suddenly get a shout out in Trump’s speech but Billy Ray Cyrus – Nashville being the home of country music and Billy Ray reportedly among the crowds at the event.

In a clip from the vent shared to Twitter, Trump can be seen telling the audience ‘Billy Ray Cyrus is here’ before questioning where he’s located in the crowds.
Trump continues: “He’s around here someplace and he’s great, he’s a Conservative guy.”
But as well as praising Billy Ray, Trump also seemed to get a dig in at his daughter Miley.
Rumors of a feud between father and daughter started circulating after Miley didn’t attending Billy Ray’s wedding to Firerose, and then failed to mention her father in her acceptance speech after winning her first Grammy.
She also said in a recent interview she ‘inherited narcissism’ from her father.
Trump seemed to hint at the family rift, saying at the rally: “I said: ‘How did you get such a liberal daughter? How did that happen Billy Ray?'”
And it’s not taken long for people to flood to social media to weigh in, convinced Trump is talking about none other than Miley.
One Twitter user said: “Trump coming after Miley Cyrus was not on my bingo card for this year.”
“Because it’s not 1924 anymore and women are allowed to think for themselves,” a second added.
And a third said: “Can someone confirm if he was there? Be hilarious if he wasn’t.”
Despite Miley having previously broken down in tears in 2016 after Trump became president, the ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer ultimately ‘accept[ed]’ him as the 45th president of the US.

She said in a video uploaded to her Instagram at the time she believed Hilary Clinton ‘deserved to be the first female president’ and she ‘just wish that she had that opportunity because she fought for so long’ and because the singer believed her when Clinton said she ‘loves’ America.
Miley continued: “But like Donald Trump so ironically claimed after his speech, he said, ‘You can’t always get what you want.’
“And Happy Hippies, we adjust, and we accept everyone, who they are. And so, Donald Trump, I accept you. And it’s hard to say, but I even accept you as president of the United States.”

Miley Cyrus has spoken out about her relationship with dad Billy Ray Cyrus amid the ongoing family drama.
While the father and daughter duo could not be closer back in the days of Hannah Montana, things aren’t exactly that way nowadays.
Speculation has circulated in recent weeks that the pair have fell out, and now Miley has addressed the situation.
During a new interview with David Letterman for Netflix’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, the ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer discussed the good and bad things she’s learned from her celebrity father.
Speaking of Billy Ray, Miley said: “He has a relationship and a foot on the ground to the real and to nature and he always did, even when he was super famous.
“I’m grateful for being able to watch him ahead of me. He’s almost given me this map. And there’s a map of what to do and what not to do, and he’s guided me on both.”
The singer also noted: “I also inherited the narcissism from my father.”
Miley was pressed on how her parents have contributed to her success today, with the singer insisting they were ‘different’.

“Without my dad, I know — I mean, not just literally I wouldn’t be sitting in this chair, I wouldn’t exist — but I would not, who I am as a person, it wouldn’t exist,” she added.
“Because my dad, as a creative and as an artist in the way that his brain works, has always made me feel safer in my own mind because we’re very similar in our ideas.
“So I think a lot of his perspective on reality and on life, I’ve inherited from him, more so than the way that I was raised — which really, my mom raised me.”
Speaking of mom Tish Cyrus, Miley said: “Honestly, my mom is my hero.”

The country singer went on to claim that he was ‘incredibly proud’ of his daughter.
“She’s a survivor and a true artist. She learned early on to love and appreciate the fans who make everything possible,” he penned.

Billy Ray Cyrus has claimed his daughter Mylie Cyrus is a ‘survivor’ despite rumors circulating about their apparent fallout.
On Friday (June 7), Billy Ray, 62, shared a throwback photo of himself and Miley, 31, at CMA Fest, formerly known as Fan Fair.
Alongside the picture were two were bits of paper, which the singer explained was a poem he’d written after experiencing the festival.

Billy Ray and his ex-wife Leticia ‘Tish’ Cyrus-Purcell welcomed Miley – born Destiny Hope – into the world in 1992.
In the same year, the country crooner became a father to his eldest son, Christopher Cody Cyrus, 32, born to Kristin Luckey.

Before adding Braison Chance Cyrus, 30, and Noah Lindsey Cyrus, 24, to their brood in 1994 and 2000, respectively, Billy Ray and Tish secretly tied the knot in 1993.
He also adopted two of Tish’s children from a previous relationship – Brandi Glenn Cyrus, 37, and Metro Station’s Trace Dempsey Cyrus, 35.
However, in April 2022, the couple divorced after being separated for more than two years.
Three months after splitting from Tish, Billy Ray announced his engagement to Australian singer Firerose, whom he had met on the set of Hannah Montana.
Rumors of a rift between the father-of-six and Miley began spiking in October 2023 when she was mysteriously missing his wedding to the 34-year-old star.
The snub came after she was present at her mother’s nuptials to Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell in Malibu, California.
Months later, the Flowers hitmaker fuelled rumors further by failing to mention her father in her 2024 Grammy acceptance speech.
Instead, she thanked her mom, her sister Brandi and her boyfriend Maxx Morando, 24, for their support.

Billy Ray has previously said that starring on Disney’s Hannah Montana with his daughter ‘destroyed’ his family.
Speaking to GQ Magazine in 2011, the actor said: “I hate to say it, but yes, I [wish the show never happened].
“For my family to be here and just everybody okay, safe and sound and happy and normal, would have been fantastic. I’d erase it all in a second if I could.”

Sources familiar with Miley Cyrus’ family have claimed dad Billy Ray Cyrus has attempted to reach out to his daughter amid an alleged dispute.
Speculation about family drama within the Cyrus family has been going on for some time now, with many fans pointing to clues in photos and comments to try and get a better insight into a potential feud.
When Miley won her first Grammy Award earlier this month, she thanked her mom and her sister before saying: “I don’t think I forgot anyone.”
But after years of watching Miley share a screen with her dad Billy Ray on Hannah Montana, many fans wondered if she’d purposefully forgotten to shoutout her dad.
The apparent snub came after fans noticed that only Miley and her sisters Trace and Brandi were in attendance at her mom’s wedding to her new partner, with her sister Noah and brother Braison nowhere to be seen.
A source close to the family spoke to Us Weekly about the alleged feud, claiming ‘the kids have chosen sides’ following the breakdown of Billy Ray’s relationship with the kids’ mom Tish.

Speaking of the father, the source said: “He’s tried reaching out to Miley many times and congratulated her on her Grammys.
“Friends are hoping the rift doesn’t last forever.”
Though Miley and Billy Ray presented as being extremely close in the past, the source claimed the father and daughter are ‘on the outs’.
“Miley’s very close with her mom and is standing by her,” they said.
Meanwhile Noah, who is now 24 years old, is said to have ‘always been close with Billy Ray’.
“It’s caused a rift between her and Miley,” the source said.
Miley’s mom, Tish Cyrus, filed for divorce in 2022, with the source claiming there was ‘nothing left to say’ between the couple and that they were not on speaking terms.

Tish went on to marry Prison Break star Dominic Purcell, while Billy Ray married his partner, Firerose, in October 2023.
A second insider told the publication the new additions to the family have created ‘even more division’, though they insisted Noah and Braison were both invited to Tish’s wedding, despite not being in attendance.
Earlier this month, Tish appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast where she said she didn’t realize ‘how much disrespect there was in [her] marriage’ before she struck up a new relationship.
Tish added that the ‘disrespect’ came on ‘both [their] parts’.
