Women report sudden loss of attraction in their partners after one major lifestyle change

Woman say they’re suddenly less attracted to their partners after making one major lifestyle change.

Sure, not even the healthiest of relationships are perfect, but there’s no denying attraction – both physical and mental – is a pretty important factor.

It might not take much to put us off our partners – be it misaligned bedroom kinks or their glaringly obvious red flags we tried for the longest time to ignore.

But women have found one particular alteration has made them see their man in a completely different light.

Many have rushed to social media to share their stories and to find solace in others with similar experiences.

What is making men less attractive to women?

The change in question is women stopping their hormonal contraception – which can wreak havoc on your body and mind.

Among those seeking advice was a woman who had quit the birth control pill after 12 years in hopes of conceiving.

In a Reddit post, she said she experienced ‘severe acne’ and a ‘high libido’ as her body adjusted.

But she soon noticed she’d began ‘feeling differently’ towards her husband.

“We’ve been together for [around] 15 years, basically the same amount of time that I’ve been on the pill,” she began.

“After a recent fight, I just started realizing all these things that should have been red flags all along, but I completely ignored… because I felt a compulsion to stay with him.

“Now I’m feeling completely opposite… Me no longer being on the pill is obviously not the only factor but a major recent change.”

Droves of women shared their own stories, as one said: “With an ex it totally happened. I went off birth control and suddenly found him not only unattractive but kinda repulsive. Went back on it and was attracted again.”

Another chipped in: “I was on the pill when I met my first husband. When I came off the pill, he no longer smelled good to me.”

What the science says

Some scientific studies suggest coming off birth control does impact women’s attraction to their long-term partners.

One 2012 study found ‘those who met their partner on the pill were less sexually satisfied and had lower levels of partner attraction than those who met while regularly cycling.’

Another suggested that ‘masculine traits’ are preferred at ‘reduced levels when using hormonal contraception,’ hence why women are less into their significant others.

This all points to contraception use having implications for ‘subsequent relationship satisfaction.’

However, Dr Deborah Lee from Dr Fox Online Pharmacy told Cosmopolitan that attraction – particularly of a sexual nature – relies on ‘so many things’ with your contraception being ‘just one tiny part.’

“I would suggest if you’re having difficulties with your sex life, you need to find a way to talk openly and honestly to each other about it,” Dr Lee advised. “Work on the physical relationship, and enjoy spending time doing fun things together.”

Male stripper reveals exactly how often women cheat on their partners during bachelorette parties

Women can be ‘worse’ than men when it comes to being unfaithful

Ellie Kemp

A male stripper has shockingly revealed how often women cheat on their partners at bachelorette parties.

It’s tradition for couples to celebrate their upcoming nuptials with one ‘last night of freedom’ in the form of a bachelor or bachelorette party. But it sounds as though some are taking their ‘freedom’ a little too literally…

That is, according to Australian stripper Nath Wyld, who has noticed a ‘crazy’ cheating trend among brides in his profession.

In light of the NSFW antics he’s witnessed, Nath has suggested that women could be worse than men when it comes to being unfaithful.

“The narrative is always that the guys are always the worst, and they f**k up more, especially in a bucks party setting, but what shocked me is that women are no different,” the 31-year-old told News.au.com.

Nath has a theory as to why this is: women think they’re less likely to be questioned or caught.

He explained: “Women are the same in that setting when there’s no guys around, and they do the same, and they probably take more risks, because I think they can get away with it being a girl.”

According to his estimates, some form of cheating occurs at one of out of every 10 bachelorette parties.

As per Hello, Bach Party, the average bachelorette has 10 guests – obviously the bride, her bridesmaids and perhaps a handful of other close friends.

And sometimes close family members are in attendance, so that’s awkward.

You’d really hope your partner wouldn’t have the guts to cheat in front of their own mom, right?

Anyway, if just one person cheated at one out of every 10 parties, that would put the figure of female cheaters at one in 100.

But Wyld warned that, from his own experience, the statistics could be even higher.

“I was once doing a party where I’d traveled interstate and every single one of the girls in the bachelorette party cheated on their partners,” he recalled. “It was so crazy, and they all made a pact that they would never talk about it again.”

And that doesn’t even take into account the women who are lying about being single when they’re actually in relationships.

Nath continued: “Lots of girls tend to sleep with strippers in general, and they also might not tell you that they are cheating on their partner with you.”

The reasons for someone straying from their partner vary, but one expert has said that there’s six likely causes when it comes to women who cheat.

Relationship guru Tracey Cox said these can include emotional neglect, revenge or just straight-up boredom.

The more you know…

Expert reveals the five main reasons why men stop sleeping with their partners

Expert reveals the five main reasons why men stop sleeping with their partners

If your husband seems disinterested in sex, it might not be for the reasons you expect

Dylan Murray

For most people, sexual intercourse is an important aspect of married life.

So, when a woman’s husband seems disinterested in having sex, some may see it as a red flag or a warning sign that he no longer finds the wife attractive or is maybe even cheating on her.

However, while there is a chance that this is the case, there is likely a far more personal reason that there is less sex in your marriage.

According to sex expert Tracey Cox, the reasons why men may stop having sex with their wives are often associated with five key factors that many women likely don’t expect.

Trouble getting an erection

The most prevalent reason that married men might not be having as much sex with their wives is a matter of erection-related difficulties. While this is especially the case for older men, struggling to cultivate and maintain an erection can happen to men of any age and can greatly damage their self-confidence in the bedroom.

Unsurprisingly, this blast to a man’s confidence and abilities leads to a disinterest in having sex of any kind. However, even if it’s not a matter of erectile inability, a married man’s self-esteem may also be the reason for a sexless marriage.

Feeling unattractive

The second factor on Cox’s list is that a man may not feel attractive, which negatively impacts his desire to engage in the physically intimate act. While oftentimes not focused on as much as the plight of their feminine counterparts, men are very likely to suffer from these body image issues, making this a common reason for a reduced amount of sex within marriages.

Mental health reasons

Similarly to these first two reasons, a man who is stressed or depressed on a long-term basis is less likely to have routine intercourse with their partner, says Cox. Beyond just those mental struggles impacting their desire to have sex, the result of treating them, be it anti-depressants or vices such as alcohol, can also negatively impact their sex drive.

Uninterested in sex

Another common factor is, quite simply, that he might just not want to. Men can have a naturally low sex drive, especially several years into a relationship and after having children. Typically, this has very little to do with the man’s wife or his attraction to her but rather with his sex drive being lower than one might expect.

Past trauma

Lastly, a married man might not be initiating sexual intercourse with their wife due to what they believe is courtesy and politeness.

Usually stemming from a subconsciously negative perception of sex, which can occur in childhood, a man may actively avoid sexual intercourse even when it is fully welcomed by their significant other. Cox says this could come from having a parent who cheated when you were younger and seeing the act of sex as something that gets you into trouble.

Brothel manager reveals the exact time men typically cheat on their partners

Brothel manager reveals the exact time men typically cheat on their partners

Ever wondered what goes on at a brothel? Well, someone who runs one has given an insight into 24 hours at her bordello

Joe Yates

A manager at a brothel has delved into what happens when at her 100-room brothel, and some of the timings are just bizarre.

Catherine De Noire runs a completely legal brothel, and in doing so she’s learned and now revealed what exact time men tend to cheat on their partners.

But first, let’s qualify what a legal brothel is because they don’t exist in the US or the UK do they? Well, that’s not entirely true, six of Nevada’s seventeen counties allow some sort of prostitution.

Anyway, there are a fair few countries across the world where sex work is legal – famously, the Netherlands have the ‘red light district’ in Amsterdam, then Germany has sex night clubs, and then it’s also legal in Singapore and New Zealand to name a couple places.

A legal brothel is a place where people legally engage with prostitutes and the venues are considered a lot safer for sex workers.

However, that doesn’t mean some interesting stories don’t still go down at legal brothels, with one manager since taking to social media to reveal some of the ‘craziest’ things she’s seen.

Let’s dive into the timings shared by De Noire. Taking to her Instagram account she spilled the tea on what happens around the clock at her legal brothel.

Surprisingly, her 100-room bordello is only closed for four hours between 6am and 10am when the cleaners get to work, then when open business is slow until midday in what De Noire describes as the ‘first busy hour’, when white collared employees take their lunch.

Then, for the next two hours, it quietens down again until 3pm when guys pop in after work.

“Men who finish work early often stop by. These are usually married men who need to go home on time, so they can’t stay for the night,” De Noire said.

That goes on until around 5pm, then again there’s another lull as her evening shift workers arrive between the hours of 6pm and 8pm.

Business is steady until between 1am and 4am when it begins to get busier again. “A few hundred clients arrive, many of whom have been partying elsewhere first. Most of the staff — including bartenders, receptionists and cleaners — are super busy,” she explained.

Then by 5am most people have left the building and that’s when the sex workers will have a chat about how the shift has gone until they finish work at 6am.

Now, I’m not sure about youm but I didn’t expect there to be so much business taking place, but fair play to those raking it in I guess.

People shocked to learn what the CDC thinks the average number of sexual partners is

People shocked to learn what the CDC thinks the average number of sexual partners is

The CDC survey has surprised people with the average number of sexual partners we have.

People simply can’t believe the stats that have been collected by the CDC on people’s sex lives

Sex isn’t something you talk about to everyone. Let’s be honest, it can be pretty awkward talking to anyone about sex.

However, when you go into details knowing you’re anonymous and it’s for a poll, it might make it a little bit easier.

You are also probably less likely to embellish or straight up lie when it comes to filling out an anonymous poll.

The results of Centers for Disease Control (CDC) poll has stunned some people when it comes to how often people have sex a year as well as how many partners people have.

A 2017 study that appeared in the Archives of Sexual Behavior found that the average adult has sex 54 times each year – about once a week.

So depending on how often you get intimate, you might find that quite low, quite high, or just right.

According to the CDC and Prevention’s National Survey of Family Growth, the number of sexual partners we have in our lifetime is lower than you might expect too.

One question asked in the survey of ‘sexually experienced women and men aged 25-49’ was how many opposite-sex partners they have had in their lifetime.

The data found that between 2015 and 2019, the median for women was 4.3 sexual partners, with men at a slighter higher 6.3.

As for the stats as a whole, women who have one sexual partner amounted to 17.7 percent of those taking part in the survey, while men with one sexual partner sits at 11.2.

On the other end of the spectrum, 28.3 percent of men taking part in the survey said they have had 15+ sexual partners in their lifetime, while women were a lot lower at 12.9 percent.

The findings were shared on Reddit, with plenty of users raising an eyebrow at the findings.

Many were left shocked as they thought the number would be a lot higher, while others commented saying they had brought the number down.

One person said: “I legitimately find either number hard to believe tbh. Is it like counting in dog years?”

As a second added: “I am somewhat surprised the average is that low, but I have been reading about how much less sex people have now than they used to and what a wasteland dating in the 25-45 range is these days.”

And a third remarked: “I didn’t expect to come into this thread and see so many people calling the number low. My only sexual partner is my wife so I guess I’m the person bringing this down.”

Meanwhile, a fourth added: “I’ve cited this statistic multiple times as evidence to the fact that people aren’t having nearly as much casual sex as people think they are.”
