Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have finally come to a divorce settlement after an lengthy eight year battle.

Jolie and Pitt met on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith in 2003 before starting a romantic relationship in 2005. The former couple have six children, three sons and three daughters, and in 2014, Pitt and Jolie tied the knot.

However, a couple of years later, the Tomb Raider star filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016, citing irreconcilable differences.

A statement from the actors also revealed that they would be handling the proceedings privately, PEOPLE reported in 2017.

During their divorce proceedings, it was revealed in court documents that the Girl, Interrupted star, had claimed she was attacked by her then husband, with one of their children also allegedly being assaulted on a plane on September 14, 2016, an accusation which Pitt has denied.

The FBI also investigated the accusation and Pitt was not charged with anything. And now, the two have reached a settlement agreement.

Jolie’s lawyer, James Simon, said in a statement (via Sky News): “More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr Pitt.

“She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family.

“This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”

Sky News further reports that no court documents have been filed and a judge will have to sign off on the agreement. However, it’s not the only court battle the pair are currently engaged in.

The former couple are also locking heads over their shared $25 million winery business in the south of France as the Once Upon A Time in Hollywood star alleged in 2022 that Jolie had broken ‘contractural rights’ by selling her share of Château Miraval without his knowledge to a Russian oligarch, the BBC reported at the time.

According to court filings and Pitt’s lawyers, the one euro payment was also allegedly never made upon ownership transfer.

Jolie’s former company, Nouvel, then claimed in a countersue that she had attempted to discuss the sale with Pitt, but he allegedly wanted her to ‘sign a nondisclosure agreement’ about him.

Her countersue also accused Pitt of ‘waging a vindictive war’ against Jolie, PEOPLE reports.

It is unclear how the divorce settlement will impact this lawsuit, CBS News says.

One woman’s atypical relationship recently came to an end, and she’s now explained the reason why.

Michele Köbke is a 36-year-old woman based in Berlin, Germany who has previously stated she was in a long-term relationship with a Boeing 737-800 airplane, one that lasted for roughly nine years.

However, despite her previously shared ambition to marry the airplane, Köbke has now revealed that she is no longer in a relationship.

Michele explained her situation to Blide, a German newspaper, in an interview that was later translated by the DailyMail UK: “We are separated, but we’re still friends.”

While considered peculiar by many people across the world, Michele is what experts call an objectophile, or someone who is attracted to inanimate objects.

“Admittedly, at first I thought I was crazy,” Michele explained, “But then I found out that I’m an objectophile. People are just very diverse in the way they structure their relationships.”

According to forensic psychiatrist and private lecturer Dr. Werner Platz, about 40 people are known to have the disorder worldwide.

“It is a so-called paraphilia, a disorder of sexual preference. But as long as it does not cause suffering or conflict, it cannot be classified as pathological or in need of treatment,” he said.

She once said of her relationship: “My cheeks hurt from smiling, I’m the happiest woman in the world – when I’m with him I have everything I need.

“It’s like a normal relationship, we have relaxing evenings together and when we go to bed, we cuddle and fall asleep together.

“When I touch his wings, I get immediately sweaty palms and get excited.”

She also spoke about the time she did get the chance to be up close and personal with her beloved aircraft, saying: “The time in the hangar was the most beautiful moment of my life and when I was with him, we enjoyed our time together, we kissed and I caressed him.”

But like all relationships, they had their difficulties.

Michele previously said: “A relationship with a plane is not easy and at times difficult.

“I can only get close to him when I fly with him or when I can get to him in the hangar, which has only happened once in my life.”

The Boeing 737-800, which Michele took to calling Darling, was a major part of her life for nearly a decade, making her decision to disengage in the unique relationship a shocking one.

However, she also has said that the time she did get to spend with Darling were some of the best experiences of her life.

Now, in the wake of her relationship ending, Michele has sold most of her belongings related to the airplane but has not fully disengaged from her atypical relationship type.

“I now love wearing knight’s armor,” Köbke explained, now a devoted lover of the Middle Ages.

Before you jump to any conclusions, I’ll list the details and you can decide who is in the wrong here.

Back in 2017, it was Brandon Vezmar and Crystal Cruz’s first date and they visited Barton Creek Square mall theater in Austin, Texas, as they planned to watch a movie.

It was the 3D screening of Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 – now, I’m not sure whose idea it was to watch that movie on a FIRST date, because it’s not romantic in the slightest.

Anyway, a ticket came to $17.31 – and it was the cost of this ticket that the then 37-year-old Vezmar demanded off the then 35-year-old Cruz, after she walked out on him just 15 minutes into it.

While watching the movie, Vezmar became irritated with Cruz texting and after he asked her to stop she refused, so he then told her if she wanted to continue to text she should step outside and do it.

It was then that she did so but never came back.

The following day, Vezmar text Cruz asking for the price of her cinema ticket to be reimbursed, as well as the $4 for the pizza they ate beforehand.

But when Cruz refused, he filed a petition in the state capital of Austin claiming she was a ‘threat to civilised society’.

In the lawsuit that was filed to the small claims court, Vezmar stated that Cruz’s phone use was a ‘direct violation’ of the cinema’s policy and in her continuing to text, she was ‘adversely’ affecting the experience of viewers.

It also read: “While damages sought are modest, the principle is important as defendant’s behaviour is a threat to civilized society.”

Taking to X, he asked his followers to donate $17.31 to charity, adding: “Out of respect for what I’ve done for them and the sanctity of the theater going experience.”

Speaking to KVUE-TV at the time, Cruz hit back: “He has escalated the situation far past what any mentally healthy person would.”

CBS’s Inside Edition contacted the pair and arranged for them to meet at the mall, where they then initiated the handover of money.

Cruz reimbursed Vezmar the price of the ticket, which he counted in front of her to make sure it was all there, before dropping the lawsuit.

As for whether Vezmar had regrets over his actions, he said in an interview with Dazed: “I don’t think suing her was a drastic action at all. I think the drastic element to the picture is the slow drip drip of these people ruining reality for the rest of us.”

He added, when asked what he hoped his date would learn from the situation: “Treat other people with respect and with dignity.” Fair enough… right?
