An NFL fan who came under intense scrutiny on social media for his vulgar abuse toward a female fan has spoken out.
He has since apologised for the ‘banter’ after losing his job and being banned from future games.
In the viral video, an NFL fan – now identified as Ryan Caldwell – wearing an Eagles jacket was heard heckling a woman and calling an ‘ugly dumb c***’ several times as well as hurling insults at her fiancé.
The altercation took place during the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday (January 12).
The Packers fans and victims of the abuse, Ally Keller and Alex Basara, spoke to NBC News about the incident earlier this week, saying Caldwell started with ‘playful jabs’ before the situation escalated and turned nasty.

Since the footage spread across social media platforms, outraged members of the public were able to track Caldwell down and the Eagles banned him from attending any more games in the future. Not only this but his employers, BCT Partners, a DEI-focused management consulting firm based in East Brunswick, New Jersey, announced in a public statement that the man was sacked ‘immediately’.
The statement, in part, read: “We have decided to part company with the employee.
“We condemn our former employee’s conduct in the strongest possible terms.
“This individual’s conduct and language were vile, disgusting, unacceptable, and horrific and have no place in our workplace and society. Such conduct is not who we are and not what we stand for.”
Now, the disgraced fan, told his side of the story to the New York Post.
The Eagles fan said the video footage ‘does not reflect the full context’ and hinted he was provoked by the couple, but issued an apology for his choice of words.
Caldwell said: “While attending an NFL game last Sunday to support my beloved Philadelphia Eagles, an incident occurred that I deeply regret.
“What began as banter with two Packers fans sitting near me escalated to something more serious, and I said things that were unacceptable. In the heat of the moment, I chose unforgiving words to address one of the fans, Ms. Ally Keller.
“I want to sincerely apologize to Ms. Keller for those words, and to my wife, family, and friends, my former employer and colleagues, Packer fans, Eagle fans, the Philadelphia Eagles, the City of Philadelphia, and all who were offended.”

However, the married man said he is now paying the ‘price’ for the ordeal, adding that there are ‘two sides to every story’.
“The video clip circulating online does not reflect the full context of what transpired, and my actions were not without provocation,” he continued.
“I will live with this experience, and I am certainly paying a personal price. For those who don’t know me, this incident does not reflect my values or the respect I have for others and is not indicative of the person I am.”
Basara previously claimed on Twitter that Caldwell’s abuse was ‘unprovoked’ as the couple were only cheering on the Packers.

A missing teenage girl has miraculously been found after she vanished for almost a month, thanks to her dad.
Emmarae Gervasi, from East Patchogue in Suffolk County Long Island, vanished out of thin air on December 9 when she went to retrieve some items from a car outside her home on Tyrell Street.
The 14-year-old was then seen getting into another vehicle, without a jacket or shoes in the pouring rain, while CCTV captured her knocking on doors at a Bohemia motel the next day.

She then disappeared again and her family became worried sick with her father, Frank Gervasi, taking it upon himself to try and track her down with the help of local police officers and regular search parties.
Suffolk County Police Department conducted widespread searches with police cadaver dogs and helicopters in upstate New York but couldn’t find her.
Frank took to social media to search for clues and leads into her disappearance and as well as driving around Long Island in search of her, put up a $10,000 reward for anyone who could help.
He said he received some unusual phone calls from unknown numbers but miraculously found Emmarae alive on Friday afternoon.

The concerned father said it was one anonymous tip-off that led him to her whereabouts – a large boat docked on Long Island, just off main Street in Islip near the White Cap Fish Market, some 13 miles away from home.
Frank said to News 12: “I did find her myself before police got there. It was the end of 26 days of hell seeing her alive in my arms. It was a gift from God.
“I can’t describe the feeling I had when I grabbed her.”
The youngster is now receiving treatment in hospital, while investigators continue to examine the case.
In a Facebook video posted on Saturday morning, Frank thanked all the people who were involved in the search party and explained how he came to find his missing daughter.
He said: “I’d like to thank the community for all the support you gave us. Posting all the videos, pushing all the content, handing out flyers, donating your time to look for my missing girl. It is those things that are going to help bring other kids home.
“I got an anonymous tip yesterday, and I want to thank that person for coming forward and giving me information about my daughter. The phone call that I received was that she was on a boat in Islip. I followed it up on my own and I went down there to check.
The family say they are so relieved to have found her alive (Frank Gervasi/Facebook)
“I bust into the boat and recovered my daughter. She has been saved and is alive.
“I believe it was persistency that helped bring her home.”
Frank said he believes Emmarae initially went off with someone she knew but was too scared to come back home ‘because of the consequences’.
He also said he thinks she was picked up by a stranger who took her to a trailer park and then the boat.
The teen had reportedly had a history with drug addiction, according to FOX5NY, and had left home before but never for so long.
Emmarae’s court-monitored ankle bracelet was also found cut-off near her address.
Her mother, Melissa Dervay, told Greater Long Island: “The moment I heard her voice and knew she was OK, I felt a weight lifted off my body.
“I’ve been so tense for the past four weeks, quietly fighting a battle. Now, I’m elated. I feel light, and I just want to scream, ‘She’s OK. She’s been found.'”

Lisa Ann has taken to social media to share alleged evidence she didn’t break any rules at Matt Rife’s comedy show.
On Sunday night (February 4), the former adult film star went to see Rife perform at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
However, part of the way through the show, the 51-year-old was ‘dragged’ out by police.
Ann took to her social media after the incident, claiming police ‘dragged’ her outside and handcuffed her after she was accused of ‘using [her] phone’.
She shared a video of cops leading her from the venue and accused the New York Police Department (NYPD) of ‘harassment’ and ‘extreme’ behavior – alongside allegedly offering her two options, either of being arrested and ‘processed’ or to be involuntarily detained under a mental health code and taken to hospital.
While her handcuffs were later removed and she was let go after speaking with a paramedic without charge or citation, Ann called the incident ‘traumatic’ and ‘unnecessary’.
The SiriusXM host has continued to deny using her phone during the performance, claiming she had ‘just’ been ‘enjoying the show’ and didn’t even touch her phone ‘once’.
She has since shared alleged evidence to X – formerly known as Twitter.

Ann posted an image, claiming it was taken of the crowd at Rife’s performance on Sunday, however she hasn’t revealed where the photograph is from or who took it.
Ann has drawn a blue circle on the image, alongside an arrow and says the circle shows proof it was another person on the phone, not her. And the arrow, she says, points to where she’s sat with her arm resting on the back of her seat.
The caption reads: “In this photo, I am seated facing the stage with my arm over my chair watching the show. The person on the phone was not me.”
One X user questioned: “Or were you sneaking a peek hence the turn sideways.”
However, Ann quickly responded: “No, the blue circle is who they thought was me. It was not me. I am facing the stage with my phone in my purse.”
Another simply queried: “But why are they allowed to arrest someone on their phone in the first place?”
Ann also shared a statement about the incident in another post.
It stated: “Thank you all for the incredibly kind messages all day today. I am thankful for every bit of love thrown my way today.. I’m still pretty shook up about last nights incident at Radio City. I respect and understand security doing their jobs, yet when I expressed my phone was away in my purse, they will still insisting I was on my phone.”
She accused the officers of taking ‘a misunderstanding’ to ‘the next level’ and noted she’s ‘thankful for the paramedic’ who ‘ultimately deescalated the situation’.
Ann resolved: “I am sore, bruised both physically and emotionally, but I am feeling a lot of love from everyone, so thank you.”

A judge sentenced a man to 558 days in prison after he repeatedly swore at him during a court hearing for a separate offence.
Darrell Jarrell had been in court on a charge of misdemeanour trespassing when he began hurling abuse at Judge Cedric Simpson.
Judge Simpson had been about to wrap up the matter in Washtenaw County, Michigan, when Jarrell screamed at him to ‘kiss my a*s’.
Jarrell had previously been arraigned on July 24, with an original court date of August 7.
Simpson had attempted to explain that attorney’s representing Jarrell had not been able to speak to him regarding his case, which had led to the delay.
Jarrell responded by saying he wanted to leave Michigan before swearing repeatedly at the judge.
Beginning his ill-judged tirade, Jarrell said: “I’m tired of this state, I’m ready to leave this state as soon as possible,” adding: “You guys can kiss my a*s.”
Simpson immediately began reprimanding Jarrell for the outburst, saying: “You know what? No no no. You don’t come in here…”
But Jarrell was not deterred, interrupting Judge Simpson to scream ‘f*ck you!’ at him in front of the shocked court.

Simpson replied by saying that the swearing incurred a 93 day jail sentence for contempt of court.
But Jarrell was seemingly still not getting it, repeating the profanity at the judge, who then added another 93 days to his sentence.
You might imagine that twice would be enough to get the message across that continuing to swear at a judge in court is unwise.
But Jarrell went on to swear a further four times at the judge, racking up a total of six 93 sentences to be served consecutively for a total of 558 days.
Jarrell shouted some of the profanities even as he was being led from the court.
A video of the incident went viral on social media, and some people believed that the judge overreacted.
Judge Simpson was not impressed. (FOX 2 Detroit)
One wrote: “Judge probably over reacted”, while a second said: “Seems excessive.”
A third posted: “Well this seems like a bit of an overreaction.”
But another pointed out that maintaining a sense of respect in a court is crucial to upholding its authority.
They wrote: “If courtroom civility is eroded then the justice system evaporates, The penalty is harsh, although his behaviour was unacceptable.”
Another commented: “That’s a pretty serious consequence for disrespecting the court. It’s important to always show respect, especially in a legal setting.”
Others pointed out that Jarrell had continued to talk even after being reprimanded, with one writing: “Ahh that’s a long time in jail dang, best to keep your mouth shut in these situations.”
Another wrote simply: “Show some dam respect man.”

The mom of one of the three Kansas City Chiefs fans who were found dead in their friend’s backyard has spoken out.
On 9 January, Ricky Johnson, David Harrington and Clayton McGeeney were discovered having passed away outside a house rented by Jordan Willis in Kansas City, Missouri.
Two days before on 7 January, the three men – aged 38, 37 and 36 – had attended the Chiefs’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers, before going to Willis’ to celebrate.
Johnson’s mother has since opened up about her son’s passing and the moment she realised something wasn’t right.
Two of the men were discovered passed away in the backyard and the third on the back porch of Willis’ house.
In a statement to The Independent, Willis’ lawyer, John Picerno, said: “Jordan had absolutely nothing to do with their deaths. He does not know the timing or manner of their deaths, nor does he know how or when they exited his house.
“He had no knowledge that they remained in his back yard, or that they needed medical attention.”
However, the families of the three men have since spoken out, with Harrington’s mother, Jennifer Marquez, saying ‘nobody believes this story’.
The three Chiefs fans’ deaths are being investigated by Kansas City authorities who’ve stated the case is ‘100 percent NOT being investigated as a homicide’.
Their cause of death has not yet been officially announced, however, Picerno says it’s suspected they died as a result of hypothermia.
Johnson’s mom, Norma Chester, was celebrating her 66th birthday when she was informed her son had passed away.

She tells PEOPLE she first knew something was wrong when Johnson’s dad texted her saying ‘he hadn’t heard from’ the Chiefs fan.
She grew more suspicious when Johnson was the only person to not text her to wish her a happy birthday, and when the mom ‘called around’ family and friends, the mom of one of Johnson’s kids said she hadn’t heard from him either.
A ‘day or so’ later, Johnson was confirmed to be one of the three men who had passed away and ‘that’s how [they] all found out about it’.
Chester has since been left to take care of Johnson’s four-year-old daughter.
Chester notes: “She’s always saying, ‘Grandma, I miss my dad. Then she’ll see something on TV [and say], ‘There’s my dad.’ And that’s so heartbreaking.”
The mom resolves: “He [Johnson] didn’t deserve this.”
