A Netflix series from 2021 has left viewers ‘shook for two years straight’.
If you’ve already binge-watched that ‘truly riveting’ crime series in one day like everyone else has and are looking for another Netflix hit, then there’s a British thriller which left viewers ‘messed up for hours’.
Prepare to be shook (Netflix)
The psychological thriller – comprising of one season made up of six episodes – is based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Sarah Pinborough.
Created by Steve Lightfoot, the supernatural series – titled Behind Her Eyes – first premiered on Netflix in February 2021.
It centers around single mother, Louise Barnsley, who ends up embarking on an affair with her new boss, Dr David Ferguson, who also forms a friendship with his wife, Adele – if you think this is weird, just wait until you see the journey the series takes you on, there’s seriously nothing that can prepare you for some of the twists.
Behind Her Eyes stars Simona Brown, Tom Bateman, Eve Hewson and Robert Aramayo.
And even though it was first released nearly four years ago now, some Netflix viewers have only just stumbled upon it for the first time.
Steady yourself for the trailer here:
Granted, the Rotten Tomatoes score for Behind Her Eyes isn’t exactly encouraging – with the series obtaining a Tomatometer percentage of 63 and average Popcornmeter score of a pretty measly 57.
However, a Netflix user took to LADbible Facebook Group Netflix Bangers, sharing a tweet which reads: “Alright tell me a movie that made you stare blankly at a wall for 20 minutes after it finished. One that you couldn’t stop thinking about and made you question everything.”
And despite it not being a movie, one user wasted no breath in responding with: “Behind Her Eyes. That ending had me shook for two years straight. All my curiosity about Astral projection ended before it even began.”
“Gosh, me too,” another responded.

A third commented: “When I hear someone asking me to recommend them a movie/series with the crazies plot twist this is the first series that comes to my mind.”
A fourth added: “Me too. I wasn’t expecting that ending at all (although that’s nothing unusual for me haha)! I need to rewatch it to look for the signs now.”
And a fifth resolved: “Behind Her Eyes. I was messed up for hours.”
At the time of writing, there doesn’t look like there’s any sign of an upcoming second season for Behind Her Eyes much to viewers’ dismay.
It’s probably fairly unlikely there will be another too given the first was based on the novel and the plot of the book was concluded, so viewers will simply have to try and make peace with their bewilderment and fury – not everything can be wrapped up nicely in a bow, eh?
Behind Her Eyes is available to stream on Netflix now.

A new Netflix series has been getting rave reviews, with some going as far as giving it a 10/10.
The true crime drama is based on a case involving the murder of a woman and a child in Linköping, Sweden, which sparked the second-largest criminal investigation in the country’s history.
The incident occurred in 2004, and eventually the case went cold as there was no clear motive or suspect.
It wasn’t until 16 years later that a genealogist made some progress in solving the murders.

They went on to say of their review: “It’s the first time I give a 10 to something, but this deserve it all.”
Someone else, who gave The Breakthrough 10/10, said: “Great performance by all the actors from beginning to end. I found the understated urgency and perseverance of the lead detective really touching and well acted. Overall, I watched it all in one day and felt on the edge of my seat to the very end.”
A third added: “This kept my interest throughout the series. It had drama, tenderness and suspense that kept me riveted to the screen from beginning to end! An excellent series.”
The series is based on a Swedish cold case that went unsolved for 16 years (Netflix)
Starring Peter Eggers and Mattias Nordkvist, The Breakthrough was directed by Lisa Siwe. Discussing the show, Siwe said to Netflix: “Though this is a fictional drama series about a crime, it is, above all, a depiction of a human tragedy – where we place our focus on the victims and the investigation rather than the perpetrator.
“It’s a story about the compassion and care for one another that is needed to move on when terrible things happen.”
The Breakthrough is now streaming on Netflix.

Fans of a hospital drama have been wiping back tears as they get a chance to tune in to the popular show for its final season.
As we enter 2025, you know what that means – there’ll be new movies and TV shows for us to welcome the New Year.
That doesn’t mean to say that 2024 didn’t leave us out to dry, as many viewers were raving about a ‘unbelievable’ thriller and a true crime series that involves Barack Obama, an Elvis impersonator and a poison plot.
Netflix also ended the year by adding a hospital drama from 2018, which UK viewers were unable to watch – until now.
The NBC show recently arrived on Netflix (NBC)
The show is called New Amsterdam, and follows Dr Max Goodwin (Ryan Egghold) who joins one of the oldest public hospitals in New York as a medical director.
Unlike his predecessors, Goodwin is set on making some changes, rustling some feathers and doing all he can to remove bureaucracy, address neglect and ensure better care for its patients.
You can watch the trailer for season one here:
New Amsterdam concluded its fifth season at the start of 2023, however, it’s recent addition to the streaming platform has reinvigorated the love for the show on social media, with fans taking to Twitter to rave about it.
As you can imagine, the show often deals with sensitive subject matter and this has really resonated with some viewers, and some have gone as far to call the show ’11 out 10′.
One Twitter user joked: “My name is Rob and I’m a telly addict. I’ve just found New Amsterdam on Netflix. See you in a few weeks!

Another commented: “I introduced the wife to New Amsterdam on Netflix last night. I’ve seen most series already but 2 episodes in it already hits me in the feels.”
“Such a good series with so many heart string moments. I won’t lie though (no spoilers) I’m already prepping the tissues.”
Someone else commented that they ‘can’t get enough of this series’, while a fourth said: “New Amsterdam on Netflix 11 out of 10.”
A fifth viewer had high praise for the show’s overall premise, calling it an ‘amazing’ watch.
On Rotten Tomatoes, there isn’t a Tomatometer rating and it does hold a rather meh 50 percent popcorn meter rating. However, on IMDB, the show boasts a solid 8/10 following over 52,000 reviews.
So it might be worth binging yourself and seeing if the hospital antics resonate with you.

A ‘nightmare’ Netflix movie has had fans so ‘on edge’ they admitted they ‘couldn’t breathe’ while watching it.
Fans say one scene ‘was the most anxious and longest 20 min’ they’ve ever seen.
The thriller, which dropped last week, has shot to the top of the Netflix movie charts worldwide – and it certainly seems like a stressful watch.
Fans claimed they ‘couldn’t breathe’ while watching the thriller (Netflix)
Yellowstone‘s Kelsey Asbille stars as Iris, a woman who is about to commit suicide before being injected with a ‘paralytic agent’ by a serial killer, who calmly informs her she has 20 minutes to get away until she’s completely paralysed.
Oh, and along the way her body will slowly be shutting down.
And not only does she have a serial killer to worry about, she also has to contend with ants crawling over her face while she can’t move her body, and also trying to get help when all she can move is her eyes.
I don’t know about you, but my heart’s racing just reading about it.
You can watch the trailer for Don’t Move below:
Ratched‘s Finn Wittrock, Pirates of the Caribbean‘s Moray Treadwell and Stay Close‘s Daniel Francis round out the cast in the heart-pounding thriller, which is also produced by Spider-Man and Evil Dead director Sam Raimi.
Fans have certainly been raving about Don’t Move, with one posting to the Netflix Bangers Facebook group “I have never seen a film like this before. I couldn’t breathe when watching it.”
One fan agreed: “Kept me on the edge of my seat, loved it,” as another chipped in: “Unsettling but a good watch”.
Over on X, formerly Twitter, one fan wrote: “I watched that new Netflix move called #DontMove where the lady was drugged and paralyzed…that was the most anxious and longest 20 min I ever seen.”
Another said ‘that s**t had me on edge’, while a third called the film a ‘nightmare’.
A fourth called the concept ‘beyond f**** up’, adding: “This woman is literally about to unalive herself and the guy who talks her out of it just drugged her to where she can’t move as she’s getting into her car.. the f**k?!”
Not everyone was a fan, with plenty of viewers disappointed in how the movie ends.
Kelsey Asbille stars as Iris in Don’t Move (Netflix)
One slammed: “Tried to watch Don’t Move, 15 minutes and I was done and that was being generous.”
A second reasoned: “Story is good but… I feel they could’ve made it better, ‘specially the ending, is very boring in my opinion,” as a second agreed: “Good story just an abrupt ending.”
But what exactly did Rotten Tomatoes critics think? Critics rated it a respectable 73 percent – while RT audience members awarded it just 43 percent. Ouch.
Decider’s John Serba sums Don’t Move up as ‘a reasonably tight and effective thriller, and a rock-solid debut from Netto and Schindler.’
The Guardian’s Benjamin Lee writes that the thriller ‘doesn’t quite stick the landing as smoothly as one might hope with a few too many incredulous moments and some biffed one-liners.’
But he adds: “There are enough heart-in-throat moments on the way there to separate this from most of the genre guff.”
Don’t Move is available to stream now on Netflix.

Fans who’ve binge-watched the latest Harlan Coben drama have another eight they can get stuck into – and they’re all available on Netflix.
Missing You, which was released on New Year’s Day, has had viewers ‘addicted,’ with many praising the five-parter’s major twist.
And those who want more from the renowned mystery-thriller writer don’t have far to look…
There are another eight TV dramas to stream on Netflix, said to be just as gripping as his latest.
Half of them are in English and the others are in either Spanish, French or Polish.
Here’s what they’re all about…
Fool Me Once
Michelle Keegan in Fool Me Once (Netflix)
Perhaps the most well-known of Coben’s adaptations, this thriller was only released last January.
It follows former military captain and helicopter pilot Maya Stern after she sees her dead husband in nanny-cam footage of her baby daughter.
Her niece and nephew, Abby and Daniel, also investigate the case of their murdered mother and seek a connection between the cases.
Coben previously told UNILAD he’s got an idea for a second season of the hit show – so you never know…
The Stranger
The Stranger was released in 2020 (Netflix)
This one dropped back in 2020 and stars Richard Armitage as well as Hannah John-Kamen and Siobhan Finneran.
It follows a happily married father of two whose life is changed after a passerby tells him a secret about his life, putting him in grave danger.
The Woods
The Woods is a Polish language series (Netflix)
Released in 2020, this Polish-language series is set across two timelines: 1994 and 2019.
In the present day, Warsaw prosecutor Paweł Kopiński is called upon to identify the body of a murder victim who was found with newspaper clippings about him.
The murder seems to be linked to the August 1994 summer camp where Paweł was a chaperone, during which two people were murdered and two others – including his sister Kamila – went missing without a trace…
Hold Tight
Hold Tight is available to stream now on Netflix (Netflix)
Hold Tight is almost a continuation of The Woods and features characters from the series.
Having dropped in 2022, it follows a woman on a harrowing search for her son, exposing secrets and lies in the process.
The boy goes missing in mysterious circumstances after his friend is found dead.
Stay Close
Stay Close was another of Coben’s Netflix hits (Netflix)
Released on Netflix in 2021, Stay Close stars Cush Jumbo, James Nesbitt, Eddie Izzard, Poppy Gilbert, Hyoie O’Grady and – once again – Armitage.
The series follows four characters who find out some deep, dark secrets about those close to them.
Different from one another, we find out if the past haunts them and ruins their lives, or if they are able to deal with their past demons and come out stronger.
The Innocent
Fans described The Innocent as ‘a wild ride’ (Netflix)
This Spanish-language series explores how a young man, Mat, deals with the aftermath of an accidental killing, as he finds himself down a dark hole of intrigue and murder.
Just as he finds love and freedom, a phone call brings back the nightmare.
Having released in 2021, it stars Mario Casas, Aura Garrido, Juana Acosta and José Coronado.
Gone for Good
Gone for Good is a French-language series (Netflix)
A French-language drama this time, Gone For Good is set a decade after a man loses two of the people he loves most.
More heartbreak is to come when he’s plunged into another dizzying mystery after his girlfriend suddenly vanishes.
Released in 2021, it stars Nailia Harzoune, Finnegan Oldfield, Garance Marillier and Nicolas Duvauchelle.
Safe
Safe was released in 2018 (Netflix)
This was the first English-language Harlan Coben series to come out on Netflix back in 2018, featuring Emmett J. Scanlan, Michael C. Hall and Amanda Abbington.
The series follows single father, Tom, who is bringing up his two daughters after the death of his wife.
But after his eldest child disappears, he uncovers dark secrets about the people that he thought were close to him and the truth about the seemingly perfect community where he lives.
