A survivor of a horrific car crash that killed her boyfriend and their dog has spoken about her final words to him before tragedy struck.
Last week (19 January) San Francisco woman Linh Luu, her boyfriend Misha Romanenko and their dog Keeper were in the car so they could pick up her aunt and grandmother to take them to the airport.
Sadly, just after 6.00pm local time the emergency services responded to a call about a car crash involving seven vehicles and eight people, and according to ABC 7 a black Tesla reportedly travelling at 98mph crashed into a number of other vehicles including an autonomous car.
One of the cars involved in the collision was the one in which Luu, Romanenko and Keeper were driving in.
Luu was hospitalised with multiple broken bones, but Misha and their dog did not survive the crash.

Speaking to ABC 7 from hospital, Luu explained that her memories of exactly what happened on the night were hazy but that she vividly remembered the final exchange she had with her boyfriend moments before the crash occurred.
She said: “I don’t understand why it happened the way it did, and I don’t know how I’m alive. Honestly, I want to trade places with him. He had such a purpose in this world.
“I remember looking over to him and saying, ‘I love you,’ and him saying, ‘I love you too,’ back to me.
“It was just one moment after that I was being wheeled into different rooms.”
She said she also remembered a ‘flashback’ of being in the car with Misha ‘when I was back in the car and he was motionless’, saying that she tried to speak to him but he was ‘motionless’.

Police have arrested a 66-year-old man, with blood alcohol tests indicating he did not have alcohol in his system.
The man told investigators that he had been attempting to apply the brakes on his car but claimed his Tesla did not slow down or stop.
Luu told ABC that she wants ‘to know exactly what happened’, and for people to remember Misha for his kindness.
“He was just so much joy being around him,” she said.
“Anyone who crossed paths with him in his life would definitely have a story or two about how he made them laugh, how he put a smile on their face.”
She told people to ‘hug your loved ones’ and ‘tell them you love them’.

A woman has given us a possible glimpse into the afterlife as she opened up about her near-death experience – and it’s not what you expect.
Willow Caelan, from Michigan, US, was on her way home after her first day at a new job when a car rear-ended her vehicle.
The driver says she was ‘launched 40 yards’ into incoming traffic and was met by a semi-truck approaching her.

Before Willow witnessed the collision, she completely blacked out and fell into a state of peace and comfort where ‘nothing mattered’.
The 34-year-old even claims that she saw her soul floating above her body.
On what she experienced before regaining consciousness, Willow told What’s The Jam: “I felt like I was just pure consciousness and love, not a human with a body.
“It was almost like I was floating into a void to be connected with god or some form of the greater universe.
“I couldn’t see or hear anything, but I remember it being dark, comforting and warm.
“It was incredibly relaxing.
“I was finally at peace – no longer worried or questioning anything – it was like heaven.”
Willow claims witnesses were shocked that she survived.

She said: “Everyone was in complete disbelief, especially as no one came to check on me since it was almost certain that I wouldn’t have survived.
“My car was a complete mangled wreckage, but I somehow came out eerily unscathed.
“An unexplainable force saved me.
“I feel that I woke up in an alternate timeline or reality where I had somehow stayed alive.”
In wake of the crash, she suffered a concussion, temporary vision loss, a compacted spine, and torn muscles.
The car crash survivor is now trained as a reiki master and a mind mastery coach.
Willow said: “My parents and friends seemed different to me, like strangers.
“I was different with my mannerisms and how I spoke to everyone.
“Quickly, I realised I had gained a unique awareness of life.
“It was like everything was new again; colours were brighter, I became more purpose-driven and I wanted to experience everything.
“It became clear to me that we never know how long we truly have here.”
Ultimately, Willow now no longer fears dying.

She added: “The experience has allowed me to see the beauty of life and our physical reality.
“We don’t need to sit in what we’ve been through as our definition of self, as we have opportunities each day to recreate who we choose to be.
“I feel so much more connected to my soul.
“Dying isn’t something to be scared about, it’s just another state of being.
“I don’t feel like we have physical sensations in the afterlife or very strong emotions.
“We’re put on this Earth to experience what those feelings are like, even when it’s painful, as it teaches us how to make the most of this greatest gift; life.
“I don’t know if it was divine intervention, a stroke of sheer luck or something more extraordinary.
“But a mysterious phenomenon kept me from the brink of death.”

A woman has warned motorists to be wary of what they are wearing behind the wheel after she ended up losing an eye in a minor car crash.
You might remember the grim story of the woman left with no forehead after putting her feet up on the dashboard prior to a crash, and now Hannah Oliver, 29, has shared how one seemingly innocent fashion choice left her with life-changing injuries.
Oliver said she knows that it is something people ‘do all the time’ while driving without having any idea of the potential dangers, but she is now on a mission to warn people how one simple accessory choice ‘changed her whole life’.
She explained that back in August 2021, she had been in her car and was travelling at just 25mph when she ended up in a fender bender with another motorist.
Although it was only a ‘minor car accident’, it had major consequences for Hannah.
The business owner, from Atlanta, Georgia, explained that another driver had pulled out in front of her and slammed on his brakes, but she ‘did not react fast enough’ and ended up smashing into the back of him.
Instagram/@hannahnoliver
In a TikTok video bravely detailing her story, Hannah said: “When that happened, my airbag came out. It hit my precious designer sunglasses and they shattered into a million pieces.”
The next thing she remembers is regaining consciousness and looking up at her rearview mirror, which is when she realised that one of her eyes had been ‘shredded’ and ‘looked like it had gone through the garbage disposal’.
Hannah explained: “My eye was gone, it deflated on impact. My optic nerve was severed and my retina was detached. All of the glass had shredded my eye into pieces.”
She underwent six surgeries to reconstruct her eye and she now wears a prosthetic, which she got in September 2022.

But the fact she had been left partially blind just because she wore her favourite sunglasses didn’t sit well with Hannah – and her ordeal ended up inspiring her to start up her own business.
The TikToker launched her own company, Blue Eye, which sells a line of shatter-resistant sunglasses in the hopes of saving someone else from going through the same nightmare as she did.
Each design is dedicated to a stage in her incredible journey to recovery, while a portion of each purchase is donated to eye research charities to help others who have lost their eyesight. Talk about coming full circle!

Hannah can’t believe how many people don’t know that sunglasses have such a sinister side, and she is now working to raise awareness of the potential risks wearing them brings on her social media accounts.
She continued: “I think its crazy that people don’t know your sunglasses can do this. Over 75% of them are made with either plastic, nylon or glass lenses, which will shatter right on impact.
“What’s even more nuts, is the fact that these sunglasses manufacturers could produce shatter resistant lenses for literally pennies but they chose not to. Now that I only have one eye, I have to protect what I have left.
“It literally took me to six surgeries to get to this and now I’m partially blind and I’ve got to live with this for the rest of my life, all because of some designer sunglasses that I thought were cute on my face, that I thought was going to protect me, but they didn’t.”
People were moved by Hannah’s video recounting her horror experience to inform others and praised her resilience in the comments.
One said: “No claw clips, no sunglasses – got it!”
Another wrote: “My Ray-Ban’s exploded like that on a hard floor. I’ve always had cheap plastic ones before, it was a wake up call for sure.”
A third added: “Oh my goodness. I live in my sunglasses and never knew or thought of this! I’ll be checking your range out ASAP.”
A fourth commented: “Terrified to wear my glasses now.”
And a fifth chimed in: “Crazy because you think you’re protecting your eyes with them too.”

The partner of a man found dead in a croc-infested river has spoken out about his haunting final moments.
Dylan Leschke, 33, disappeared in the Gulf of Carpentaria, off the northern Australian coast, on Monday (25 March).
The Aussie bloke regularly went fishing at the spot on the Norman River but his partner, Desiree Callope, explained how his keys, shoes and phone were found near the Captain WH Norman Bridge in Normanton.
A police search began on foot, in boats and helicopters as this finding alongside the location of his empty vehicle sparked serious concern just before midday.
And at about 7pm on Tuesday (26 March), the 33-year-old’s body was found in the river.
Callope, who shares a young son with Leschke, told the Courier Mail about the last time she saw him, the Sunday evening before.
“I kissed him goodnight and told him I loved him,” she said.
Her dad saw the man taking the dogs out for a walk early the next morning, before he later went missing.
She said authorities haven’t yet ruled out if Leschke’s death could be suspicious while police await post-mortem results to determine his cause of death.

“No words can explain the pain of losing your partner,” she added.
“I don’t know what’s happened, but I just can’t see my partner leaving his son, leaving me, leaving his home, his dogs, his business, and everything he’s worked so hard for. Dylan was well respected and admired everywhere he went; he didn’t have a mean bone in his body.”
Specialist police have been deployed to the area for further investigation.
Leschke is well known for his love of fishing, especially at the Gulf. He often posts on social media about his beloved ‘mighty Norman river’.
The river is known for a large population of crocodiles, and last year there were reports of many crocs in the area being found shot dead.
Leschke actually spoke to ABC and said he found about 14 dead crocodile bodies over recent months.
“A few of the locals and traditional owners are pretty concerned about who is out shooting these crocs,” he said.
“They’re not a threat to our society. These people are just getting trigger-happy and trying to shoot them under the radar. I’ve never seen something so disgusting out here – wasting a three-tonne beast like that.”
The Carpentaria Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (CLCAC) added that people shouldn’t be concerned by the saltwater crocodiles.
“They don’t hurt anyone – only people with no sense,” the spokesperson said.
“They’re not a threat to the community.”
LADbible has contacted Queensland Police for comment.

The YouTuber who crashed his McLaren on a live-stream while supposedly being on his phone has been blasted by social media users after ‘begging’ for donations online.
Jack Doherty, 21, has been the talk of the town since his dramatic collision with a railing on a busy highway in Miami, Florida, on Sunday (6 October), as footage of the shocking incident subsequently went viral.
While behind the wheel of his high-powered £150,000 supercar, the content creator was live-streaming his journey on Kick – but he has now been given the boot from the platform due to his reckless behaviour.
In the alarming video, Doherty was seen driving down the highway in the pouring rain while appearing to use his phone, when he suddenly lost control of the car and veered into some railings.
His pal Michael David, who was sat in the front seat, appeared to be bleeding from the face when he emerged from the wreckage – but the YouTuber shockingly thrust a camera towards him and told him to ‘film’.
Needless to say, people aren’t pleased with Doherty’s approach to driving, or how he handled the crash.

The Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) announced it has launched an investigation into the incident, while the social media star has been sharing updates on other platforms about the aftermath of it.
But Doherty has been branded ‘tone deaf’ after uploading a shirtless picture of him stood next to the wreckage of his McLaren on the side of the highway – as, surely, an Instagram thirst trap should have been the last thing on his mind.
And he’s now managed to aggravate people even more, after turning to TikTok to seemingly make a few quid following his ban from Kick.
Social media users have been speculating that Doherty might be seriously concerned about where his career will go from here after he hopped on a TikTok live and urged people to send him gifts, likes and donations.
In footage which is currently sweeping X, the young YouTuber can be heard saying: “Everyone double-tap the screen, we’re almost at a million likes guys, let’s see how fast we can hit it!
“[TikTok user] thank you for the galaxy, bro. I just followed you back. Guys, let’s see how fast you can hit my galaxy [target] – I’m going to follow everyone back once we hit it. Appreciate y’all.”
The content creator seems to have turned to TikTok after being banned from Kick (X)
Despite claiming he was grateful for the support, Doherty couldn’t help but sneak a humble brag in there when the topic of his car crash was brought up after one person asked him how it all happened.
The live-streamer responded: “I literally hydroplaned. I’m in a McLaren in the pouring rain, what do you expect? You guys have never drove [sic] a McLaren.”
But people thought that kind of comment was a bit rich coming from a 21-year-old who appeared to be a bit too keen when encouraging people to send him cash on TikTok.
One said: “Begging for money and then saying ‘you guys never drove a McLaren’ is crazy lmao.”
Another wrote: “Biggest fall off of all time.”
A third added: “Someone is in damage control mode, would love him to do a manual job for a year at minimum wage.
“Might do the guy some good and build character.”
A fourth added: “‘You guys have never drove a McLaren,’ is so tone deaf while you’re asking for donations.”
And a fifth wrote: “Bro got perma banned on kick and this is his last resort?? LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.”
Doherty’s older brother Michael, 22, has since spoken out about the controversy too, claiming that the YouTuber was not distracted by live-streaming or his phone prior to losing control of the car.
He told the Daily Mail his younger sibling was on his phone ‘about a minute or two prior’ and instead blamed the crash on him going over a ‘puddle’.
Michael said: “What really happened was that he hit a pocket of water, and McLarens are pretty notorious for spinning out. He hydroplaned into the barrier and kind of over corrected, which is someone’s first instinct.
“When you hydroplane, you want to correct the other way, and that caused him to spin out.”
