Reason World Trade Centre building collapsed hours after twin towers during 9/11 after it sparked huge mystery

There’s a reason why the 7 World Trade Centre building collapsed hours after the Twin Towers were hit on 9th September, 2001, despite not being hit.

It’s been over 23 years since the most horrific terrorist attack that the world has ever seen took place.

On that fateful day in September 2001, two of the most recognisable skyscrapers in the New York skyline were targeted by a terror group.

Four planes were hijacked by al-Qaeda and flown into the Twin Towers, the Pentagon in Virginia, and a field in Pennsylvania after a failed attempt to hit the White House or the US Capitol building.

Terrifying videos of the incident have since been shared on social media, providing different perspectives on one of the darkest points in recent history.

As a result, 2,977 innocent people were killed, with an estimated 6,000 to 25,000 extra people being injured as a result.

The ‘War on Terror’ then began, claiming millions of lives over the years.

Following the tragic events, many conspiracy theorists have gone wild over the real motives behind the attack, and who actually carried it out.

They may be bizarre, but one of the questions was why the nearby 7 World Trade Centre building collapsed hours after the Twin Towers were hit.

The building contained the offices of important government agencies and departments such as the CIA, the Department of Defence and the Office of Emergency Management.

It mysteriously collapsed without being targeted or hit at all, and it looks like we may finally have an explanation.

According to a three-year investigation carried out by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, it had collapsed due to intense and uncontrolled fires, which lasted almost seven hours.

Contrary to popular belief, these fires were started by debris that fell from the North Tower, which was targeted.

The entire event was one of the most shocking in human history, with people unaware that a terrorist attack was happening after many missed the first plane’s contact with the twin towers.

Although, a lot of people captured the second tower being hit on their cameras after looking up in wonder.

One of the newest and most jaw-dropping videos of the attacks was uploaded last year, as Kei Sugimoto shared the old footage on YouTube.

He was simply moving his car on the day to make sure that he wouldn’t be fined by New York City’s street cleaners.

Then 24, Kei didn’t walk out to the usual crowded streets of the Big Apple, and instead saw hundreds of people standing in the roads and staring at Lower Manhattan in the distance.

He, along with other civilians, were witnessing a horrific moment in the country’s history, describing it as ‘unbelievable’.

It’s been almost 23 years since the most tragic terrorist attack in history, and it seems that there’s more that we haven’t seen of the incident.

On 11 September 2001, two planes crashed into New York City’s World Trade Centre, with another flying into the Pentagon, killing almost 3,000 people in total with thousands of injuries and several lives changed forever.

Following the shock of the first plane’s impact with the Twin Towers, the second plane’s crash was captured live on several TV broadcasts and civilians a lot, with much of the footage captured already shared with the public.

But, on 23 July this year, a man named Kei Sugimoto uploaded some unseen footage that he captured over 22 years ago to YouTube, as shown from what viewers say is an ‘unseen angle’.

Uploading the video ‘for historical archival purposes only’, he wrote in the description of the video: “Footage I filmed of the World Trade Center Collapsing on 9/11/2001. Filmed from the roof of 64 St Marks Place in NYC on a Sony VX2000 with teleconverter.”

The footage shows the collapse of the World Trade Center, and captured the feeling of the city on that fateful day, as the structural integrity of the building gave in after being hit.

But why release it now, almost a quarter of a century later?

Sugimoto took to the YouTube comments to explain why he posted the footage now.

“I was cleaning my closet and found boxes full of Hi-8, Digital-8, and DV tapes,” he began.

“When trying to play them back I noticed that maybe about a 3rd of them had demagnetised over time and were either blank, or suffering from major data corruption.

“After researching online I learned that video tapes are not immune from age even when stored in ideal conditions, so I franntially [sic] started to digitise them. Thus I’m just uploading the video now.”

He admitted that he did see the second plane crash, but didn’t film it, as he added: “If I remember correctly, I think I ran to get my video camera after seeing the second plane crash sensing that this was no ordinary accident.”

The footage has gone viral on several social media platforms, as users said that it showed a ‘unique perspective’, while commenting that it was a ‘crystal clear’ video, showing the ‘devastating’ event.

One user took to X to share their intrigue at the newly released footage, saying: “This footage offers a unique perspective not seen from the south or east,

“You are watching these angles for the first time ever.”

On Reddit, users were also taken aback, as one user said: “Makes me wonder how much history is being stored in people’s attics or basements waiting to be unearthed.”

Another commented: “It’s crazy that we’re almost 23 years out and still getting new footage.”

The passengers were informed about the horrors unfolding on the ground on September 11 2001

There wasn’t exactly a good place to find out the news that the Twin Towers were under attack, but being thousands of feet in the air on an aircraft has got to be one of the worst.

But that’s exactly how these passengers were informed that their country – and the world – had changed forever, and the whole thing was caught on camera.

Take a look at this harrowing footage here:

Incredibly, rather than being enveloped by sheer panic as many would expect, these travellers were stunned into silence.

As they took in the contents of the pilot’s address, each person seemed to be overcome by shock and sorrow as the gravity of the situation sunk in.

And 23 years on from that fateful day, it remains just as chilling.

There were a total of 2,977 victims of the coordinated terrorist attacks, where four aircraft were hijacked and three of them crashed into high-profile targets in the US.

When news first broke, then-President George Bush was visiting the Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida, and reading a book with a classroom full of young children.

And while his Chief of Staff was whispering the haunting words into his ear, thousands of people were also simultaneously travelling on planes across the country, just like those in the footage.

It was therefore up to the pilot to inform his passengers about what was unfolding on the ground.

“At least three aircraft have been hijacked in the United States, two of which were hijacked in the New York area,” a member of staff announced over the tannoy.

“They were driven into the World Trade Center towers, they destroyed both towers, both towers have completely collapsed according to the reports that we have.

“In addition to that another aircraft was hijacked, we believe this was a US hijacked airplane and that was blown up and destroyed out over the ocean.

“Fourth item here, the Pentagon was attacked with a helicopter loaded with explosives and there’s no damages estimates right now.

“Also we’ve had other reports of the White House being attacked, they’re reporting now that there’s smoke coming out of the White House, no further details.”

Throughout the grim announcement, the plane’s passengers could only utter a handful of words in shock, with a few saying ‘oh my god’ and others bowing their heads solemnly.

Although chilling, the footage serves as a reminder of the chaos and confusion which followed the 9/11 attacks.

Some of the pilot’s information was not factual, which is probably to be expected in a situation like this without the technology and communication we have these days.

The aircraft which struck the Pentagon was a Boeing 757 passenger plane and not a helicopter, killing 59 victims on board the plane, all five hijackers and a further 125 people in the Pentagon.

But a lot of those who were travelling on an aircraft that day had no idea if they were safe or not.

The plane, which the pilot said had been destroyed over the ocean, was United Airlines 93, a passenger flight which the hijackers intended to crash into a target in Washington D.C, either the White House or the Capitol Building.

However, it crashed in Pennsylvania with 40 victims and all four hijackers on board dead after passengers on the plane fought the hijackers and attempted to force their way into the cockpit.

New 4,000ft New York skyscraper ‘Big Bend’ could become longest building in world

New 4,000ft New York skyscraper ‘Big Bend’ could become longest building in world

Oiio wants to dominate New York’s skyline

Plans are afoot to build the longest skyscraper in the world in New York – and it certainly has a unique design.

One architectural company in NYC is thinking bigger than anything you’ve seen before.

Oiio is proposing to build a 4,000ft structure, dubbed ‘The Big Bend’.

It certainly looks impressive (Oiio)

They hope that this will push the boundaries of what we can create by sneakily using a loophole in New York’s planning laws.

Usually, when you think of a skyscraper, you’re thinking of a tall building that goes straight up to the sky.

But this upside-down U will break the mould.

The designers think this will help them to ‘overcome the limit of the skies’.

Why is The Big Bend u-shaped?

The New York structure would be 4000ft (Oiio)

The Big Bend definitely has a unique design, but there’s actually an important reason why it’s designed to be the shape it is.

Planning laws are crazy strict in NYC – especially for skyscrapers, with developers required to purchase ‘air rights’ so that they can create massive structures.

If The Big Bend was 4,000 feet straight up, it would be considerably more expensive.

But because this design folds back to the ground, they’ll be able to create something massive without having to purchase more space upwards.

It’s sneaky, but it’s also smart.

One pretty cool part of the design – the elevator goes all the way round the u-shaped bend.

Oiio writes on its website: “The elevator can travel in curves, horizontally and in continuous loops.

“The innovative track changing system allows for the horizontal connection of two shafts on the top and bottom to create a continuous loop.”

How does The Big Bend measure up to other skyscrapers?

The Big Bend would be bigger than Dubai’s Burj Khalifa (by more than 1,000 feet) if you measure the whole length of the bend.

In terms of height, it would be 200 feet taller than the One World Trade Center.

Designer Ioannis Oikonomou writes on Oiio’s website: “We have become familiar with building height measurements.

“But what if we substituted height with length? What if our buildings were long instead of tall?

“If we manage to bend our structure instead of bending the zoning rules of New York we would be able to create one of the most prestigious buildings in Manhattan. The longest building in the world.”

Sounds cool, right? The last we heard was that Oiio is still looking for investors to make their vision a reality, so we’ll have to wait and see if The Big Bend comes to dominate the New York skyline.

LADbible has contacted Oiio for a comment.

Woman wins £2.1 million payout after finding ‘hundreds of nude images’ from hidden camera inside smoke detector

A Colombian au pair noticed her boss kept adjusting the smoke detector

An au pair has won over £2 million in damages after she terrifyingly realised her boss has installed a hidden camera in a smoke detector in her bedroom.

Kelly Andrade was awarded a £2.1 million payout when it was revealed her employer, Michael Esposito had secretly been filming her, according to a Brooklyn Federal Court lawsuit.

The then 25-year-old worked as a live-in-nanny for the fried chicken mogul where the family were staying in New York’s Staten Island.

When the Colombian-born woman was placed with Esposito, who owns three LaRosa Grill franchises, and his wife Danielle to look after their four children, she was thrilled.

She told the Post she was looking forward to the chance to be able to learn English and work in the US, with the family giving her a private bedroom.

But Andrade became suspicious when she noticed the 35-year-old dad often adjusting the smoke detector in her room, with it ‘constantly being repositioned’ according to the suit.

Three weeks into working there in 2021, she inspected it and discovered the hidden camera.

She alleged Esposito arrived home ‘within minutes’ and tried to barge the door down when he realised she had uncovered his seedy trick.

Having initially pretended to be asleep, she jumped from a window in fear and ran down the street.

Andrade’s lawyer says she spent the night sleeping ‘on the street in a bush’ after fleeing Esposito’s house, before she made her way to a nearby police station, handing over the memory card she’d found.

The au pair went on to sue Esposito, with the suit claiming it contained ‘hundreds of recordings’ showing her partially dressed or nude.

The dad was arrested on 24 March 2021 and he received a felony charge of unlawful surveillance.

But he avoided prison time on the condition he completed two years of probation and counselling, which Andrade said was ‘not enough’.

Esposito has now been ordered to pay up a mega $2.78 million (£2.1 million) after his secret X-rated recording plan was uncovered.

A Manhattan Jury has awarded $780,000 (£588,000) in emotional distress damages against both of the Esposito couple plus the $2 million (£1.5 million) in punitive damages against the man.

“Right now I’m working on myself recovering,” Andrade said. “It wasn’t easy for me to be on a trial. It was a very difficult time for me. It brings back memories that I’m trying to forget.”
